In New York in 2015, the UN General Assembly adopted an action plan for global development goals named Transforming Our World: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (or Agenda 2030), as a reaction to an increasingly interconnected world and the need to make it sustainable. The 17 goals that are part of the agenda should be met by all UN Member States by 2030. The goals are balanced by all three pillars of sustainable development: economic, social, and environmental. In 2017 a global indicator framework was created to monitor the goals of the 2030 Agenda. In the Czech Republic, data for the individual indicators to evaluate progress in fulfilling the SDGs has been collected since 2019.
