The ecological status of a water body shows the magnitude of the deviation from the reference conditions of the undisturbed status, based on three groups of parameters:
– biological (composition and abundance of fish stocks, other aquatic animals and aquatic flora),
– general physico-chemical (for surface waters flowing, these are temperature and oxygen ratios, salt content, acidity / alkalinity and nitrogen and phosphorus content as basic nutrients) and the content of specific pollutants
– hydromorphological (flow dynamics, flow continuity, variability of its depth and width, etc.). |
